The Opposite of the Prosecution

 

                   In this episode we learned about this lady that could possibly help Adnan with the case and get him taken out of jail if they get enough evidence. I feel like this is good news for Adnan because before he wasn't rightfully committed to Hae's crime. What I want to know is who's DNA is on the bottles including the brandy bottle. And I also would love to have the fibers tested for DNA and her body tested for that as well because I feel like this could all have been evidence that could lead to the real murderer even if that is Adnan. Like I feel like knowing that information will put my mind to ease a little because then I know he's in jail for all the right reasons and not because some lazy cops charged him without enough evidence. What the lady that is trying to help Adnan's case said I found very interesting she said "If we get a jury to commit then that's okay." I found this interesting because that's what she said law enforcement thinks like. I find that wrong because what if the person didn't commit the crime and the jury convicts them that's not justice. Like the lady said is that juries automatically think the person being tried is guilty because you need enough evidence to try someone in the court. I just want to know who did it already. Like if its Adnan I want to know how they know and what their evidence is. This episode didn't really show anything bad about Adnan it was mostly pro Adnan because she was arguing that maybe he could be innocent.

                I feel like what they are doing in the Connecticut juvenile justice system is great because that's why the system was created for in the first place, like it was supposed to rehabilitate the children not focus strictly on punishment. And I found it fascinating how they used to put kids in jail for minor crimes like skipping school, running away, or missing curfew. Like I feel like those are irrelevant crimes that shouldn't make you be put in jail. I feel like doing this will create less crime rates in Connecticut because they are giving those juveniles the attention they need and crave instead of being like everyone else in their life by not dealing with them and throwing them away in jail and not addressing their problems. But on the other hand with the video we watched in class with those kids that created heinous crimes as juveniles I feel like in order for you to commit such bad crimes makes you no longer a juvenile because you know right from wrong you should know that killing a person is bad you don't even need to be taught that its like societies norms. Take the 15 year old kid "iron man" he killed four people, not one but four. He didn't even have any remorse like that's not a normal juvenile that's a serial killer. Like he had a straight face when he was getting arrested like he didn't even care that he killed 2 little girls, their mother, and a teenage girl that at some point were all his neighbors. I feel like there is no excuse for those actions, like at that point you are an adult I don't care how old you are. This society doesn't need crazy serial killers like that roaming the streets because they say oh that's not his fault he cant be held accountable because he's just a kid. I feel like if you do the crime you do the time point blank period. Some cases come with exceptions but other crimes don't because they are two different situations. And the environment that someone grows up doesn't mean they are going to grow up to be like what their bad environment is like because I know a lot of people who didn't have a father or no guidance and they used that as motivation to get out of that situation not oh I'm going to become like this because it is expected of me. That's their fault they take for granted that life and use it as an excuse to kill people that isn't right.

Serial Episode 6

The Case Against Adnan Syed

                I feel like Adnan is telling the truth when he says it seemed like a regular day because it really was a regular day and the only thing that probably wasn't regular was the police asking where Hae was because If that was me I wouldn't think anything of it I would be like dang where could Hae be and I was also be like she's probably is tired of her family and ran away to her new bf. Like its something that I wouldn't be worried about If I was Adnan 1 because she is my ex, and 2 because she's a good girl and she will eventually come back to her house. I feel like the palm print they have of Adnan isn't irrelevant because obviously Adnan was in her car a numerous amount of times because they were dating and that is probably where they chilled a lot because they weren't allowed to date. I find it weird too that he didn't try to page or call Hae. I find the letter weird that Hae wrote to Adnan like he's going to be mad a little bit obviously if he really liked you a lot but then again that is from her pint of view because some girls tend to assume guys are mad when they really aren't. Did that Dave guy call before the body was found or after? Maybe Adnan knew he was going to be interviewed by the cops and he was high so he was nervous or maybe he was nervous about having to go home high and didn't want his parents to find out. That phone call seems fishy. Did Jen know about it? I don't understand how Jay can remember where the girl that called Adnan lived but couldn't remember her name. The problem with this case is they don' t have that much evidence like they only have allegations and things that sometimes contradict their alibi. It's like he say she say stuff and they don't have hard core evidence. I see why Adnan no longer thinks about it or worries about it its because after that many years in jail you give up because he has tried everything he can and everyone would give up once they realize that there's no hope.

Serial Episode 5

Route Talk

                  In this episode what was being discussed was the route Jay said him and Adnan took to bury Hae, to kill her, and to go to Best Buy. I feel like Jay is very fishy like he's trying to protect himself from going to jail but I feel like he's hiding something from the police. Like he never once mentioned that he dropped Adnan off at track practice a numerous amount of times. I feel like the police aren't doing a good enough job because they are supposed to look at both sides even if it doesn't go with their motive. They purposely kept out valuable information that could have been used in Adnan's favor and that could have showed the jury the full story. I feel like the second they got this case they automatically said Adnan is guilty and didn't fairly handle the case they were just biased and only took evidence into consideration that benefited their case against Adnan. I feel Adnan had something to do with it but I don't feel like it was his idea maybe Jay was the one that initially came up with the plan because he said that they talked about it a lot maybe he suggested killing Hae. Maybe not...Like there's nothing that your ex can do that will make you want to kill them like why didn't police look at prior relationships that Adnan had been in before Hae so that they could have had this insight on how Adnan is in a relationship or in a break up. Like your ex might do something that makes you loathe them but not to kill them. Maybe Jay was jealous of Adnan's friendship with Jays girlfriend. Like Adnan and Jay being friends doesn't make sense because they are 2 different people that have nothing in common except for Stephanie and weed. So why would Jay help him bury Hae's body if he considered Hae a friend.

Serial Episode 4

Inconsistencies

           In episode 4 Jay keeps changing his story from what he told the police some are minor details and some are major ones. One of the major ones is that Jay initially told the cops that he met Adnan in a strip but then in the next tape he says that he met Adnan in the parking lot of Best Buy. When the police confront his lies he admits to them and Jay says he thought the Best Buy had video cameras so he didn't want them to see it. That raises a red flag to me because if in fact Adnan did kill Hae in the parking lot wouldn't you want the police to see the video so they could see that Adnan had killed Hae? And why would you take so much precaution to get rid of all the clothes you were wearing if you just dug the hole? I understand that you would want to get your prints off the shovel but wouldn't you have used that as your evidence to say yes I helped Adnan dig the hole and they would see that he dug the hole as well. I found it pretty coincidental how Jay changed his story to match with Jen's after he had first said he went to the strip. Every time the cops catch Jay in a lie he repeats the same line "To the best that I can remember." Of course all the information he says is making him look good. I feel like Jay is lying there is no way you forget where you saw a dead body that's a significant event that would forever haunt you. And if he was in fact a credible source he wouldn't have changed his story to the police so many times he would have stuck with the same story. I feel like these police officers aren't doing the best job they can because they should had brought the evidence to forensics and they could have checked every single lead which they didn't they just judged the case since day one and did everything they could to get Adnan into jail.

Serial Episode 3

Leakin Park

 

              I think Mr. S is fishy because his story of how he found the body is off like it was hidden so well that a trained professional that knew where the body was couldn't find it. Why would he have gone out so far if he had to pee so bad? Wouldn't he have just peed in a cup or one of the cans like not out so far? If you really had to pee so bad you could settle for a little shrub instead of a 127ft walk and a log. I'm more frustrated with the police because as police officers they are supposed to collect the evidence and run it though forensics to see if they could find any evidence because if the case was like Sarah said important wouldn't they have taken every bit of evidence into consideration instead of totally disregarding it? They should have ran the blockbuster movies and seen who they were rented to. As police officers they are supposed to follow every lead even if it leads to a dead end instead of totally disregarding it. They should have also traced the gun or the bullets but that may have lead to a dead end as well. What is also unclear is what kind of questions did they ask Mr. S? If they say he failed because of his pressure from his work why didn't they polygraph him later with the same questions instead of different ones? Why didn't the run the rope through forensics too? Now a days that's what every detective/cop would do. Why didn't they? Adnan wouldn't have been able to drive all that way to a park he didn't even know existed. 

Serial Episode 2

The Break Up

 

             After listening to episode 2 I feel as though Adnan is looking kind of suspicious because of the one piece of information  that says Adnan asked Hae for a ride and killed her in her car. At first Adnan told Officer Adcock that he did ask Hae for a ride but after Hae had been missing for a while and the pressure to find her had risen Adnan changed his story and said that he didn't ask Hae for a ride because he had his own car and he knew she wouldn't give him one. I think this piece of information coming from Jay is unreliable because he has changed his story numerous times to get himself less jail time because after all he was an accomplice to this murder. So I feel like he's just trying to cover his own butt by just throwing random information out there about Adnan. And even if Adnan had asked for a ride she would have denied it because she was already busy enough like she had to pick up her cousin and then go to the mall and me being a big sister I would never ditch my sister to drop off a guy especially if he was my ex. Like I wouldn't do anything that was going to make me late for one of my responsibilities. Hae seems like a responsible person. In one of the interviews someone said that Adnan's car was in the dealership getting fixed that's why he asked Hae for a ride if this was true where is the evidence from the dealership of the car being there and getting fixed? Like I feel like that piece of information should be disregarded because its not set in stone as to if it really happened or not because people admitted he asked but no one knows for sure if he even got in the car.
